Hosted by My Sea to Sky
Come celebrate the Blue Dot initiative by the David Suzuki Foundation on Sunday, April 19th from 1 - 4pm at O'Siem Pavilion downtown Squamish between Main and Victoria.
On February 17, 2015 the Squamish Council accepted the Right to a Healthy Environment declaration and took a stand for healthy communities by adding Squamish to the growing list of municipalities across Canada. The more municipalities join the bigger the pressure on the next level of government and so forth until all Canadians have the Right to live in a safe and healthy community by law!
April 19th is a national day of action to get together and celebrate this movement, and for us in Squamish, to thank our local leaders for adding our municipality to the growing list and encourage others to do the same.
Celebrate with us outside and bring your family!
The initiative for a right to a healthy environment policy was put forth by David R. Boyd. By recognizing the constitutional right to a healthy environment this policy could have a transformative impact, empowering citizens, holding governments and industry accountable, and improving Canada' green record.
