Hosted by DFO & Tenderfoot Hatcheries
Department of Fisheries and Tenderfoot Hatcheries will be releasing half a million chum salmon fry on Wednesday morning between 10-12pm. The exact time of release will depend on the day, but it typically takes about an hour to release the fish into the pond. The baby fish then hang around for 2 days, before they swim into the creek, and then into the Squamish River and out to Howe Sound, avoiding predators along their journey.
Dress for the weather (raingear and warm clothes), bring your kids, and watch nature in action!
Check back here for a more exact time confirmation on the day.
