Howe Sound is world renowned for its wild natural beauty, recreational opportunities, and the vibrant communities we call home. We value intact ecosystems that sustain and support our communities, our livelihoods, and our diverse local economies.

The proposed Woodfibre LNG project is based on faulty economics, will harm marine and terrestrial ecosystems, and poses an unacceptable health and safety risk for the communities of Howe Sound. This project does not fit our values.

We call on the Provincial and Federal governments to reject the Woodfibre LNG project and its associated pipelines and tankers.

All Fossil fuels need to be phased out, not expanded. It’s time to focus on non destructive energy sources and show respect for this beautiful planet.

Climate Change is State of Emergency. Fossil fuels of all varieties need to be rolled backwards immediately. This is a priority and will impact the upcoming election cycle.

Fracking is a dangerous highly toxic process that consumes vast amounts of our fresh water, causes earthquakes, is terrifying wildlife, polluting our air, ground water and causing extreme distress to wildlife and humans from earthquakes and the toxic release of methane. Ground water is being poisoned and fracking wells are being abandoned when no longer profitable. Polluters just abandon their wells declaring bankruptcy. We’re left with thousands if abandoned well still emitting toxic methane. I hope you’ll sign yo stop fracking in BC.

The risk factors which accompany LNG tankers in a narrow populated passageway are very real. Not all risk can be mitigated when transporting dangerous goods, but the risks present with this operation are potentially catastrophic to both the local communities and the environment – it’s unnecessary and irresponsible.

No LNG period for all the reasons “we all, already know”. We must focus on Climate Change. Period.
