Howe Sound is world renowned for its wild natural beauty, recreational opportunities, and the vibrant communities we call home. We value intact ecosystems that sustain and support our communities, our livelihoods, and our diverse local economies.

The proposed Woodfibre LNG project is based on faulty economics, will harm marine and terrestrial ecosystems, and poses an unacceptable health and safety risk for the communities of Howe Sound. This project does not fit our values.

We call on the Provincial and Federal governments to reject the Woodfibre LNG project and its associated pipelines and tankers.

An Lng facility doesn’t make sense in Squamish. Really bad for the environment, no local jobs, there is no rental vacancy here so the employees will take the few units we have. Please stop this, it’s wrong on so many levels!

Fracking is extremely destructive. The finances of these private companies depend on there capacity of profiting from a process that cost a lot of energy to generate a bit more energy. When this fragile balance will start inverting, the sites will be abandoned and the wells will leak for ever.

I agree that it is a major and contentious issue. The Sound is home to many very unique and scientifically important issues.

Free training for Albertans working in the oil sector to transition to to new clean energy jobs, financial assistance for them during transition. Take the money from the richest 1% and oil corporations. Not hard, Justin! Do your father proud and make a difference. Our world depends on people like you. Be brave.
