Howe Sound is world renowned for its wild natural beauty, recreational opportunities, and the vibrant communities we call home. We value intact ecosystems that sustain and support our communities, our livelihoods, and our diverse local economies.

The proposed Woodfibre LNG project is based on faulty economics, will harm marine and terrestrial ecosystems, and poses an unacceptable health and safety risk for the communities of Howe Sound. This project does not fit our values.

We call on the Provincial and Federal governments to reject the Woodfibre LNG project and its associated pipelines and tankers.

LNG is a disaster for communities and for our need to move to renewables! Ask New Brunswick! It takes precious water and pollutes the land! NO LNG PLEASE!

If the economics of oil and gas producers is so good, why are they always asking for subsidies. They also need to pay for the pollution they generate, which they have been mostly avoiding. Green energy is better for the planet and for our health. We face the same issues in Quebec. This is worldwide problem but we have to start addressing it locally and then scale it up.

Such a facility should never be in an area vulnerable to massive earthquakes, the next one now being within the spacing of those known to have preceded ie the last was January 26th 1700, so 319 years ago on a recurrence that is 300 to 500 years with the most likely recurring on the lower figure. In addition the underlying geological structure would be particularly vulnerable in a quake and the location vulnerable to tsunami.

Our children live under those power lines now. Would be very worried if the voltage was increased. Very much against any increase.!
