Howe Sound is world renowned for its wild natural beauty, recreational opportunities, and the vibrant communities we call home. We value intact ecosystems that sustain and support our communities, our livelihoods, and our diverse local economies.

The proposed Woodfibre LNG project is based on faulty economics, will harm marine and terrestrial ecosystems, and poses an unacceptable health and safety risk for the communities of Howe Sound. This project does not fit our values.

We call on the Provincial and Federal governments to reject the Woodfibre LNG project and its associated pipelines and tankers.

Nothing about Wood Fibre LNG makes sense and puts Squamish at risk.

Now is the time to move towards more sustainable energy sources, reduce our impact in any way possible, and take actions that will positively affect our collective futures.

Our futures – & that of our descendants – cannot afford continued subsidized resource rape / plunder of our precious wildlife habitats, nor the rising GHG emissions/pollution! We need a Govt. that’ll invest in future-forward, sustainable enterprises that respect 1st Nations’ rights & honour -not harm- our grandkids.. The age of O&G is OVER.. & Canada must embrace our sustainable new future & upgrade accordingly!! (Starting with, ending govt. subsidies to BigOil & investing in a GREENER economy powered by regenerative organic farming, clean renewable energy & sustainable industries that #KeepItInTheGround..

It is unacceptable that the people and wildlife that travel through, live, work and attend school in the hazard zones are being looked at as disposable! I live in the worst danger zone and my son attends elementary school here. How do we protect them and why is my child and the children of the hazard zones not being protected by our government against these known dangers.
