Woodfibre LNG should just be cancelled. What happens if there is a gas leak from a LNG tanker? The gas will seep along the water freezing everything in sight, then explode in a huge fireball. The impacts of such a disaster will be made even worse if the ship is passing by the Ferry Terminal at Horseshoe Bay, with ferries coming and going to Bowen Island and the Sunshine Coast, boaters, and fishing boats, people in cars in the parking lots or ferry line ups. People canoeing in what is supposed to be a wildlife refuge and hikers or people swimming along the shores. There should not be any LNG near densely populated areas. The LNG project is a disaster waiting to happen. I want to see it cancelled, for everyone’s sake.

Fracking is a dangerous highly toxic process that consumes vast amounts of our fresh water, causes earthquakes, is terrifying wildlife, polluting our air, ground water and causing extreme distress to wildlife and humans from earthquakes and the toxic release of methane. Ground water is being poisoned and fracking wells are being abandoned when no longer profitable. Polluters just abandon their wells declaring bankruptcy. We’re left with thousands if abandoned well still emitting toxic methane. I hope you’ll sign yo stop fracking in BC.

Howe Sound is world renowned for its wild natural beauty, recreational opportunities, and the vibrant communities we call home. We value intact ecosystems that sustain and support our communities, our livelihoods, and our diverse local economies.

The proposed Woodfibre LNG project is based on faulty economics, will harm marine and terrestrial ecosystems, and poses an unacceptable health and safety risk for the communities of Howe Sound. This project does not fit our values.

We call on the Provincial and Federal governments to reject the Woodfibre LNG project and its associated pipelines and tankers.
